President - Ron Graham
Name: Ron Graham Age: 38 Married/Two Children Occupations: Commercial Excavating/Grain Farm Operation Graduate of OSU - Engineering Residence: Ashley, Ohio Number of years flying: 25+/- Current interests: IMAC, working on full scale license My interest in RC began as a child when my father showed me a control line model he had put together when he was in high school. Later, he built an .049 powered CL profile of a Hellcat that my brother and I flew a fair amount as youngsters. In the winter of 1984, I managed to save enough of my lawn-mowing/4-H money to buy a Great Planes Trainer 40 kit, an OS 40 FP engine, and a 4 ch AM Futaba Conquest radio. I proceeded to build the plane but, could not afford any Monokote tools, so I used my mother's clothes iron instead. Mom was not happy about the red residue that came off onto her iron, but was supportive since I was entering the plane at the county fair as a 4H project. I'm grateful for those early life lessons associated with the hobby. I was raised on our family farm located in Morrow and Delaware Counties. For the most part, we raise corn, soybeans and wheat. Livestock was raised on the farm in prior generations but, has become more or less a hobby. While I pursued my engineering degree, I worked as a mechanic for a Case IH dealer and John Deere Dealer. After graduating from OSU, I began an excavating business in the 1996. I'm still actively engaged in managing the family farm and the excavating business. I am happily married and have two daughters. Vice-President - Bill Gereb
My first memory of a model airplane was when I was four. It was a little stick and tissue model beautifully crafted by my Uncle Mike. Poised atop a round top radio, it seemed to this four-year-old the perfect place for a model airplane. I built the usual assortment of model planes that hung from the ceiling of my room and built my first control line plane at 12 years old. It was an Aeronca Champ with an OK29 engine. Wow! The envy of the neighborhood chums. My uncle and I built many planes in the ensuing years. Some were control line. Some were gas powered free flight with which my uncle and I became familiar with every fence, stream and pasture in South Pymatuning Township. I recall one that he built with a pendulum control system. Linked to the elevator, a one-ounce weight controlled the climb rate. A second side-to-side pendulum controlled the rudder. Hand launches, with the pendulums seeking their equilibriums, were interesting, but it flew. A casual visit to a hobby shop changed everything. Radio had become reliable, easy and affordable. On the shelf was a kit for an electric powered Piper Cub. I was amazed. Electric powered and a five foot span to boot! That was in 1989. I took the kit home, built the plane and flew it until I lost it in some weeds 17 years later. Oh, and yes, there were several crashes and repairs in between Ii flew electric powered sail planes for several years and my best flight was 59 minutes with a six minute motor run time. Some thermal! Scale planes are my main interest. I just get a kick from watching models of planes that made aviation history fly by. I joined WMAA, I think, in 2005 and enjoy flying at Dinneen Field, but enjoy as much the friendships and camaraderie of this club’s members and of seeing who brought what new airplane. Admittedly, I enjoy watching their models fly as much as flying my own. Bill can be reached at

Treasurer - Tom Rau
Tom has been a club member since 2003. He has been flying full size planes for over 30 years, but readily admits that that skill doesn't help a bit when learning to fly RC. Tom is a graduate engineer from the University of Michigan. He was a Research Engineer and Manufacturing Supervisor for Whirlpool in St. Joe, Michigan and Marion, Ohio. More recently, he was Plant Manager at Liebert Corporation In Worthington and Delaware, Ohio. He is now a retired bum. Tom is a Veteran of the Air Force. Safety Officer and Webmaster - Scott McCrory
Scott got started with RC helicopters in January 2009 after buying his nephew a Blade mCX indoor coaxial helicopter. Naturally he had to have one for himself to play with. Scott progressed through an E-Sky HoneyBee CP2 to a T-Rex 450SEv2 and then made the jump to electric and nitro airplanes, flying a 63" wide Extra 300S, a 69" wide Funtana and several 40" wide electrics. His latest models include the Pantera 50 and T-Rex 700 nitro-powered helicopters. Scott is an I.T. application architect by day and enjoys full scale aviation and playing keyboard and guitar when he's not at the RC field. He can be reached at

After retiring from the Ohio Dept.of Human Services as a Programmer Analyst in1999 he moved to the island of St Croix, USVI for 3½ years before returning to Ohio where his wife, Jan, has been supportive of his interest in flying electric RC aircraft. As a member of WMAA since 2006 he has flown helicopters but more recently his interest has been primarily any one of several fixed wing aircraft he flies on most any calm day - weather permitting.
